More About Us
Founded as Tanner Estates in the 1970’s by the late Dennis Peters, NuHarvest had its humble beginnings in the suburb of Fairlands in Gauteng. With a dream to grow locally farmed fresh produce and a piece of land rented for this purpose, Dennis set to work. He spent endless hours in the lands, driven by his love of farming and yearning to continuously learn new farming methods.
Guided by his amazing vision, unwavering work ethic and incredible self-motivation he continued to gain knowledge and experience, and succeeded in producing vegetables of remarkable quality which he went on to supply to Pick n Pay, as well as various markets. Although he grew a wide variety of vegetables, Dennis became fondly known as the Lettuce King.
In the early 1980’s, due to a greater demand for Dennis’ produce, the farming operation was expanded to Lanseria, where he purchased a virtually barren piece of land. Through his extraordinary skills and a copious amount of blood, sweat and tears, this land was transformed into the modern, lush and productive farm which is the NuHarvest we know and love today.
We at NuHarvest have carried on these traditions and hold ourselves to the same high standards as our founder. By honouring his legacy, passion and hard work, the team has continued to improve and develop the farm, and consistently strives to grow and supply fresh produce of unmatched quality.

Food Safety
Our dedicated food safety team assesses, implements and maintains all necessary procedures and policies to ensure the highest food safety standards. Our management team ensures that our corporate hygiene policy is understood, implemented and maintained at all levels of the organization.
Our staff is trained by qualified personnel in personal hygiene and the hygienic handling of food according to a regular training schedule.
NuHarvest maintains Good Agricultural Practices, Good Hygiene and Good Manufacturing Practices. We accomplish this by complying with government regulations as well as all applicable food safety standards as guided by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI)- FSSC 22000, Codex HACCP Principles and GLOBALGAP (EUREPGAP) standards, all of which are audited by independent agencies annually.
